Calculation Methodology & Assumptions

This calculator evaluates deviation penalty exposure under the specific SERC forecasting and scheduling regulations of the selected state. Generation is modeled across 96 discrete 15-minute time blocks for a full 365-day operational year based on your specified Plant Load Factor (CUF) and Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE).

Tolerance Band: Deviations within the standard 10% tolerance limit for solar (15% for wind) incur zero penalty charges.
Slab Penalties: Deviations beyond the tolerance band are penalized on a tiered tariff multiplier scale per state regulatory orders.
Source Order: Rates configured from RERC (Forecasting, Scheduling, Deviation Settlement and Related Matters of Solar and Wind Generation Sources) Regulations.
